whoa, whoa, whoa. i am mildly obsessed with okonomiyaki. the fact that i know how to spell it is one thing! we discovered this treasure of a 'snack' at our local japanese restaurant here in brooklyn. theirs is like 3 inches thick and smothered with that creamy sauce, bonito flakes and the pickled ginger. you can get it w/ veggies, beef or chicken. i'm so happy this is starting to become more well-known b/c one day, rent will be too damn high for me to continue living in NYC and hopefully wherever we move will have a japanese restaurant that will serve this amazing treat.

peko! cornflakes?! u sure? what a combo. i finally managed to source some okonomiyaki sauce, but it's going at a ridiculous price here in the UK. what a rip off.

Love the presentation! I have never seen okonimiyaki served on greens!

There is some okonomiyaki chain in Osaka or somewhere that puts cornflakes in their okonomiyaki. Dang good!

This looks nice! I do love okonomiyaki, I also had it in tokyo - well, monjayaki, the tokyo version - so good. We can get okonomiyaki here in London and while good, it's just not the same.

Looks good. 2 other condiments traditionally served on top are ao nori (they're green nori flakes that have a very distinct flavor), and beni shoga (red pickled ginger):-)
