Lan: furikake is a Japanese rice seasoning often used sprinkled on top of bowls of rice or mixed in to make rice balls. They give the rice a lot of flavour and come in many different types like ume (plum), bonito flakes, etc. and usually contains seaweed, sesame seeds. there's also a really basic type called gomashio which is basically black sesame seeds and salt which is always offered on the table in my house :) with regards to what you can put in it, you can choose traditional Japanese fillings like salted salmon but I say you can get creative. Anything you'd dare to eat with rice, why not give it a go? :)

I love these. I used to make them with tuna inside and wrap some seaweed around it. :)
